Pulitzer Prize-winning author and presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin brings history alive with a master storyteller’s grasp of drama and depth as she examines the leadership triumphs, trials, and tribulations of the men and women who have shaped this nation. With a deft wit and an uncanny ability to weave stories that put you “right in the room” as history occurs, Goodwin offers extraordinary insight into the lives of America’s leaders.
Goodwin is the author of six New York Times best-selling and critically acclaimed books. She worked with director Steven Spielberg on the film Lincoln, which is partly based on her award-winning work, Team of Rivals. Her forthcoming book, Leadership in Turbulent Times, is a culmination of five decades of acclaimed studies in presidential history that offers an illuminating exploration into leadership and provides a roadmap for aspiring and established leaders in every field.
Goodwin graduated magna cum laude from Colby College and was a Woodrow Wilson and White House Fellow. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Government from Harvard University, where she also taught. She was the first woman to enter the Boston Red Sox locker room and is a devoted fan of the World Series-winning team.
