OREGON HISTORY PROJECT TIMELINE

History is most commonly represented as a series of events punctuated in time. While understanding chronology is a crucial step in developing the capacity to evaluate the significance of the past, understanding history as a web of relationships presents additional and important opportunities to assess the multiple meanings and insights that history offers.

When completed, the Oregon History Project Timeline will be an interactive electronic resource for students of Oregon History. The Timeline will provide visitors of all ages an opportunity to interact with Oregon history as a web of relationships. The Timeline will make use of the Oregon Historical Society’s impressive collection of primary source documents and will be available in the Fall of 2008.
